Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child
In December of 2016, GIC organised and participated in their first ever annual Christmas shoebox donation as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. This appeal has been operated by Samaritan’s Purse since 1990, and has meant that over 124 million impoverished children from 150 different countries have received a shoebox full of presents to celebrate the joy of Christmas.
Spread Some Sunshine is run by 5 trustees. They are all friends and they are all passionate about spreading the word and providing a voice for those who cannot be heard. Together they try to make a difference and to brighten up the lives of impoverished children all over the world (as well as doing their day jobs!) Projects have included: a minibus in Ghana, desks for a school in Kenya, music therapy for Morgan Bishop in Tadworth, birthday sponsorship schemes, beds and sheets for an orphanage in Accra, days out for children in impoverished countries, colour therapy workshops, clothes and toys for disadvantaged children and a HIV mothers’ home in India. www.spreadsomesunshine.com
